Remembering the Suffering of Christ in Prayer

Remembering the  Suffering  of Christ in Prayer To remember Jesus is to remember his cross.” John Knox. Learning how to grow in prayer is not always easy.  I remember as a teenager running out of what to say after a few minutes of talking to God. Yet one of the best ways to grow in prayer, is by applying scripture to our lives. One of my friends defines prayer as "telling God what he told you to tell him."   As we tap into scriptures, we begin to find untapped and unlimited rooms full of hidden treasures and truths which can literally change our lives. As the Holy Spirit speaks to us through Scripture, we begin to hear God's voice and everything changes. Here is one of my favourite ways to pray by going through the suffering (passion) of Christ. I have found that I can literally spend 30 minutes or more just thanking Jesus for what his death on the cross means to my life today. An example of this would be simply to say, "Thank you God that bec

Always Prophesy like the Little Red Haired Girl

Always Prophesy like the Little Red Haired Girl (The Little Red-Haired Girl from the 2015 Peanuts Film)                             I was biking with my nine year old daughter after watching the latest Charlie Brown film when she surprised me by saying, "Papa, the little red-haired girl is a prophet just like you. Right Papa?          Everyone in the Peanuts film has the tendency to be very harsh on poor Charlie Brown. Lucy always pulls the football away when he wants to kick it and he feels like a big LOSER. But at the end of the movie, to his own amazement, the little red haired girl wants to be his pen pal.          She wants to be his pen pal because he is: honest, funny, smart, sincere, and caring. Her list of sincere and truthful compliments leave Charlie Brown and the moviegoer with a heart-warming feeling. My daughter equated this heart-warming experience to all of her meetings she has had with prophets. Prophets speak God's truth in love and br

Prophecy Is Communicating the Heart of Jesus

(Prophetic Team Members praying for a woman in Budapest.) Prophecy Is Communicating the Heart of Jesus "... Worship God, because what Jesus is saying is the spirit of prophecy!” Rev. 19:10 ISV             There are many misconceptions and caricatures of prophecy and prophets. One may be of a long bearded caveman who comes out with his stick in order to speak messages from God. Another one may be of a man walking on the streets carrying a sign which reads, "Repent for the end is near!"   However, the best picture of prophecy and of a true prophet is Jesus Christ himself. Real prophecy is about knowing him in order to say what he says, do what he does, and reflect his character (Rev. 19:10).             Jesus described his character when he said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is eas

Jumping into the Deeper Levels of the Prophetic: The Gift of Prophecy and Prophets

Jumping Into The Deeper Levels of the Prophetic: The Gift of Prophecy and Prophets (Jumping into the deeper levels of the prophetic  can be challenging but also very rewarding.) The Gift of Prophecy The Gift of prophecy is one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit the Apostle Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. Those who discover that they have a gift of prophecy do not need special circumstances to prophesy, but can use this gift nearly anywhere and everywhere by faith (hopefully using wisdom and tact as well). Romans 12:6 in the Living Bible explains this principle so: "...if God has given you the ability to prophesy, then prophesy whenever you can -- as often as your faith is strong enough to receive a message from God." When I first started growing in prophetic in 2010, I asked a prophetess in Tulsa how to do prophetic evangelism. I asked her, "Do I ask for a clue? Do I go treasure hunting?" To which she responded, "No you
