Sharing the Love and Power of Jesus at a Psychic Fair (Paranormale Beurs)

          
  Who can you find at a psychic fairs?: palm and tarot card readers, mediums, psychics, new age healers, crystal balls, and our church, New Life West. In the midst of all this spiritual and paranormal activity, we have discovered that a psychic fair is an ideal place to share the love and power of Jesus Christ using the power of the Holy Spirit. During one recent weekend, we saw many healings in the name of Jesus Christ as well as people asking Jesus to come into their hearts. Here are some of the stories.
            One of the free workshops that I offered was called “The Spiritual Power of Love in Action.” I read First Corinthians 13 and told everyone about the supernatural power of love and how my spiritual source (Jesus Christ) would heal people in just a few minutes. I told my personal story of being healed of Cerebral Palsey as a child and asked who needed healing in the room. Three ladies came forward and all of them recieved instant healing.
            Two of them could not walk without significant pain, but after receiving prayer, could walk without any pain at all. The third lady described what she described as heat going through her body and she began lifting her arms higher than what she could raise them before we had prayed for her. One lady exclaimed, “I did not know that this was possible!”
            After the entire room watched these healings, I got to tell them about Jesus Christ and how he loves them. I was not only able to explain the gospel, but also every person present received personal prayer. Yet, this was only one highlight of a weekend full of God encounters.
            Two sisters approached our table and asked what we had to offer. Behind us we had a large banner which read, “Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest.” Underneath that we have the words: Revelation, Healing, Freedom and Rest. These two sisters came to our table and started asking us questions. They were instantly healed after we had prayed for them. But then the story gets even better.
            As we prayed for one sister, she said that she saw a great light that was similar to a dream she had recently had where Jesus Christ came to her and told her that she could follow him. She then asked me, “How can I ask Jesus to come into my heart?” There in the midst of all kinds of psychic activity, we were able to lead her to Jesus. This was fantastic! Who would have thought that a psychic fair could be the ideal place to share the love of Jesus!
            One new convert at our church told us how she had always known that the church had the Father and the Son, but she did not know that we had the power of the Holy Spirit. Using the gifts of the spirit during evangelism opens people’s ears to listening who otherwise may not listen if they hear the name of Jesus. A healing, an accurate word of knowledge or prophetic word serves as a great bridge to talk about Jesus to people.

            One psychic came to our table and asked us to pray for him. He prayed to Jesus and experienced his love and his power physically going through his body. “Whatever you have,” he said, “it is extremely powerful.” This man, along as others  there, were able to see the love and power of Jesus in action. We did not go there to condemn people, but to share the love and power of Jesus Christ.  I rejoice that I can say as Paul did, “My message and preaching was not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.” (1 Cor. 2:4)

Ten more weeks...

Ten more weeks until my due date, November the 9th, and the pregnancy is going great. I had to be tested for pregnancy diabetes, because Judah weighed 10 pounds at birth (which is usually an indicator for diabetes). But yesterday the results from that came in and my blood sugar is normal! Praise God! No sugar free diet….! We are expecting a little girl. We have picked a beautiful name…Hannah Grace. Judah calls her “Hannah Gracie”. Talking about Judah…we just celebrated his birthday on the 17th of August. He loved it! It was the first time he could realize that this was all for him and he is still singing birthday songs. He is just developing so quickly, he learns new words every day and because I speak to him in Dutch, he is picking up Dutch real fast. Here are some pictures!!
