T. L. Osborn - A Man Who Made God's Message His Own

Then he said, "Son of man, get all these words that I'm giving you inside you. Listen to them obediently. Make them your own. And now go. Go to the exiles, your people, and speak. Tell them , "This is the message of God, the Master.' Speak your peace, whether they listen or not."
Ezekiel 3:10-11 The Message Bible

In order to effectively communicate God's message, we need to first digest them; internalize them, make them our own. When we  have allowed them to enter into the deepest recesses of my heart, then they can change us at the core of our being. Nevertheless, we must also be actively listening and internalizing how the culture around us thinks. When this takes place, we will be able to fluently speak God's words to the culture we live among in a way that they can understand.

(The late Dr. T. L. Osborn)
A  good example of this comes from the life of the late T.L. Osborn. Osborn was a pioneer in mass crusade evangelism outside of the United States. In the 1950s he held mass healing meetings in Den Haag which made a huge impact on many churches of the Netherlands. Many churches and ministries which exist now were highly influenced and many even born out of these meetings.

At a meeting of young healing evangelists, someone asked Osborn what his key was to being succesful. His response was that God had enabled him to find keys in order to reach his generation. Now it was the job of young evangelists to find the keys needed to reach their generations. This is just like taking God's word and making it our own so that we can communicate it to our generation so that they can understand it.

Now in 2013, I ask God for a new generation of men and women like Dr. Osborn. People who can consume God's word and then fearlessly proclaim it with healings, signs and wonders following. This is not about the ego or pride of one man, but about the power of God which can be released upon the cities and nations of our world today. May God use us as he used mighty men and women of God in the past.
